APPLE- HOLISTIC HEALTH FRUIT


Apple is one of the most ordinary and ancient fruit in the world. If we take into consideration the bible story of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit, we realize that even though the bible never mentioned the kind of fruit it was, apple has always been used to represent it. Eve saw that the fruit was pleasing to the eyes and could not resist it, therefore she took a bite and passed it to Adam.

The fruit apple is not only pleasing to the eyes but also has certain nutritional values and health-care effects on human body. As a result this article will give details into the nutritional values and effects of apple. The scientific name for apple is Malus domestica; they are obtained from a medium-sized tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. The apple tree is originated in the mineral-rich mountain ranges of Kazakhstan and now being cultivated in most parts of the world.
The fruit features oval or pear shape and the outer skin come in different colours depending upon the cultivator type. Internally the juicy pulp is off-white to cream in color and has mild sweetness and a tart taste. 

Some interesting facts about apples are that, it promotes the secretion of saliva and slaking thirst, relaxing bowl movement and relieving diarrhea. People who eat apple on regular basis are less likely to catch a cold than those who do not. As a result doctors and scientist regard apple as the holistic health fruit or holistic doctor. It contains a large number of vitamin C which can protect the network of blood vessels. It is therefore helpful for patients who suffer heart disease. According to research findings from an American scientist, it shows that apple has an Anti-Radiation effect. It can effectively absorb the ultraviolet rays in the sunshine. Recently some offices in the Silicon Valley of the United States of America have taken apple as the main fruit to prevent radiation. They hold the view that anti-radiation effect of apple is much better. What’s more, apple is very suitable for patients with diabetes but also an indispensable fruit for those who want to control the level of blood sugar. It can as well reduce cholesterol in the human body. It also plays an important role in the prevention of cancer and lead poisoning.
 
When one drives along the principal streets of Accra, you are more likely to find the street hawkers selling apple and as a result has somehow drawn the attention of road users to the consumption of this fruit. Is usually packaged in a rubber with about five apples in each packaging. Some traders located at vantage points selling apples have resorted to arranging it in a unique way in other to attract buyers. Apple is not produced in Ghana but has become one major fruit that no matter where you find yourself you will at least see a vendor who sells apple therefore we do not have any excuse for not taking an apple at least once in a day.

The nutritional values of this fruit may be enough to claim that, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. However this saying implies that eating a variety of fruits can help to keep a person healthy. If is our major concern to keep the doctor away by staying healthy then an apple a day is not a bad idea at all. It is highly necessary that we make the consumption of Apple a necessity to reduce the risk of illness.
